L’atelier Úna Artus – Maroquinerie artisanale de luxe & inspirations enracinées
The Úna Artus workshop was born from a family heritage: my Irish roots, where materials are dense, shapes are bold, and colors are vibrant. My work as a leather artisan is rooted in this memory, between raw landscapes, rich textures, and timeless elegance.
Each leather creation embodies a refined and restrained aesthetic: clean lines, reassuring durability, and pure harmony. This is where my vision of high-end leather goods comes to life: sustainable, authentic, and deeply anchored in the essentials.
My Story
I am Úna Artus, an artisanal leatherworker based in Nantes.
After more than ten years spent singing in conservatories, opera stages, and various performance venues, I chose a slower, more tangible path, one that aligns with my personality. My journey led me from communications at Audencia to a CAP in Leather Goods with APPH, which I completed with high honors, followed by internships that solidified my mastery of technique and craftsmanship.
Today, I design each creation in my workshop—unique pieces or very small series—with constant attention to quality, durability, and aesthetic meaning. Leather, with its memory and gentle resilience, is for me a living material, full of history.
My inspirations
My universe is rooted in simplicity and raw beauty: inspired by my Irish origins—vivid landscapes, solid wood, and a clear atmosphere—I favor a refined aesthetic. I avoid excessive ornamentation in favor of clean lines, bold colors, and an elegant visual harmony. My approach is one of thoughtful minimalism, blended with sensitive modernity.
I like to think of this project as an ode to minimalism and modernity, to elegance, and to a contemporary aesthetic that merges Irish tradition with French craftsmanship. Leather also holds a central place here, not only as a material but as a muse. It lives, ages gracefully, and absorbs history. Each piece carries an identity and uniqueness that connects me to my roots, to Ireland, and to the emotion it inspires.
Exceptional Leathers, Carefully Selected
The leathers used in my creations come from end-of-stock or dormant inventory of major luxury leather houses. These rare hides, imbued with heritage, are given a new life in my workshop. I select them for their grain, unique feel, and quality, but also for the emotional resonance they evoke, rooted in my inspirations and personal story.
This approach is fully aligned with an eco-responsible philosophy: giving value to existing materials, reducing waste, while creating artisanal luxury leather pieces that are durable and unique.
